REVIEWS

As mentioned, we give Rise of the Argonauts and Bionic Commando the patented Gamewank Shitty Review 3000 treatment.

To sum up -

RotA = shite

B C = bloody brilliant

Rise of the Argonauts was developed by Liquid Entertainment and all clips used are the copyright of Codemasters, the publisher.

GUEST PRESENTER SAGA CONTINUES

So toodle-pipski to Steve, who might well join us again assuming two things:

1) Sony release an interesting exclusive

2) Steve evolves from a monosyllabic, single drone organism into something resembling homo sapiens

So, chances are fairly slim but I’m sure he’ll be back on eventually.

Next month we have Barry T and Blue Lightning Ged (or Glue Whitening Shed, or Poo Tightening Fred, oh the fun I will have in April), 2 members of Amid Concrete and Callousness, a previously featured band who are not shit. The opposite of, in fact.

WE’RE NOT FINISHED YET

Check back this weekend for Jim’s Bag of Gamewank, containing some off cuts, a review of Lost and Damned and some other scripted shenanigans. It’s not a full Gamewank episode in the traditional sense, more a blend of the old show and the new as a dumping ground for stuff that didn’t make it into the main program.

PLAY IN A SOOT

Danny Eccles provides the endgame tune for this edition with a track called “Fuck the Livi Music Scene“, which he wrote exclusively for Gamewank and Boaber and Ric (richie and I, basically). I fucking love you man. I’m sure the Livi music scene will take it in the spirit intended!

As I’ve said to him, we’re big big fans of his stuff. My best attempt at describing his sound is to imagine you threw a TB-303 and a TR-909 into a cement mixer full of genetically enhanced chimps and recorded the sublime, beautiful, fucked up noise that came out on one of these, dragged the tape through one of these,  then listened to it while on a night train to  Manchester with 3 of your best mates.

If that makes ANY sense.

Please do check out his other solo stuff here:

Danny Eccles Sneeze

Also, he’s been in a fair few bands over the years, all well worth a listen:

Sumo For Now
Human Beings Wow
Never Mind The Bollards

Finally, he’s currently in a band called Dennis Law Jr who I’m informed will be gigging around Scotland in the coming months. Hither:

Dennis Law Jr

Phew! What a linkfest. Now for some copyright pish as usual and thanks all for listening, it’s much appreciated. :)
